July 6, 1957

6 07 2009

July 6, 1957, 52 years ago, history was made. John Lennon (16) was playing with his band, The Quarrymen, at St. Peter’s Woolton Parish in Liverpool, England. Paul McCartney (15) was riding his bicycle hoping to pick up some ladies when he heard the music. A mutual friend, Ivan Vaughan, introduced Paul to John, and the friendship began. Paul whipped out the guitar strapped to his back and played some tunes. John said that he “dug him.” That October, Ivan told Paul that John wanted him in the band. The rest, as they say, is history.

On July 6, 1964, just 7 years later, The Beatle’s first film, “A Hard Day’s Night” had its royal premiere at London’s Pavillion Theatre. The movie opened in the US the next month.

The Beatles are my favorite band, that’s why i know so much about them.

Fireworks In Rochester!

5 07 2009

I was lucky enough to go see the fireworks in Rochester, which were amazing, up close and personal. I had VIP seating, of course, because I’m Jason Manley. LOL. I wish. I know Ian Scott, who did the fireworks this year. So, I was ready for an awesome show. The fireworks start. We are pelted with embers and debris. Then, I wondered if we were too close. But, it was an awesome show and tons of fun. I loved the ‘Water Cakes,’ I think they were called. They were shot into the water and then things started to fly of off them. That was a bad description, but they were very cool. I learned that those were brand new and had been developed by them over the past year. So, I hope you all had a awesome Fourth of July. I did, except for the 1 1/2 hour wait to get seats in Dinosaur BBQ, but the food was awesome. I love ribs.

Freedom Rocks!

Michael Jackson

25 06 2009

Today, at 6:01 PM I received a forward text message from my friend Ashlee:

“FWD:FWD:Fwd:FWD: MICHAEL JACKSON DIED! SEND THIS TO EVERYONE! Farmer Luke!”

I laughed. And said to my dad, “Michael Jackson died?”

“No.”

“Oh..” So, I go and start playing piano, I happened to be playing Liebestraum.

“Wait, your almost right. Jackson had a heart attack.”

I laughed again. My dad gave me a weird look.

THRILLER! I like that song. Hahaha.

I don’t feel like saying much else. But, if you wanna know more, click!
